Carefree and Adventurous Iona Beach Wedding Photos

Everything about these carefree and adventurous Iona Beach wedding photos was magical!

I cannot say enough good thing about taking photographs together AFTER your wedding day. We had so much time to walk around, photograph in every spot we wanted, head to a second location, and take photos during sunset at Iona Beach Provincial Park. We had time to fully enjoy the moment. It gave Ben and Chloe a chance to really soak in how utterly amazing one another looked, and to just watch the sunset while resting on one another’s shoulder. Don’t get me wrong, I still LOVE photos on the day of the wedding! But I also love having extra time after your wedding with you with your main squeeze. I highly recommend it. Just check out how many amazing photos we got of these two!

We started the shoot off at Minoru Park in Richmond, BC. Now, this is somewhere you normally go for a child’s soccer game, but has some surprisingly beautiful spots! We adventured off down one of the paths and found the most beautiful light! The sun was streaming through trees with big hanging branches. The entire park was so bright and made everything glow! I could have spent all evening there but we wanted to catch the sunset at the beach!

I have photographed wedding photos, and I have photographed at Iona Beach, but I had never had the chance to photograph wedding photos AT Iona Beach. Well let me tell you, BEST DECISION EVER. Iona Beach is a little out of the way, which means fewer people making it ideal for photos! It has the perfect mix of wooden docks, green fields, and mountain backdrops. Not to mentions facing west so sunset is magical there. We spent our time just messing around and dancing in the field. We finished the shoot of sitting on the driftwood watching the sun go down. The Pacific Northwest is pretty spectacular.

Thank you so much Ben and Chloe for slipping back into your suit and dress and being willing to adventure around Richmond with me. You guys were absolute naturals in front of the camera, full of laughter, and I hope you’ll cherish these photos for years to come!
